IN THE CENTER OF ITS HALO
2017, site specific installation
In the surrounding darkness of the space, crossing through the blinds intense luminous disks appear on the wall.
This artwork, created specifically for the Western China International Art Biennale, changes and modifies its perspective. The luminous colours are projected forwards, and yet there is a sense of intangibility. Horizontal geometric lines are lit up around.
When the artwork is completely lit up, it gives an impression of floating and immateriality.
The instability of the outlines in this continuous perpetual movement of public passing and light flooding the space effectively makes visual reference points disappear. It radiates all around as it passes.
Like a place of refuge in urban space, this installation work immerses visitors in shimmering light. This installation confuses our perception and acts like a mirage.
