The installation As a Waiting area consists of a chromatic effect with a wavelength of 420 nanometres, corresponding to a deep indigo violet. The surface of the ice at the rink, the space and the air itself are modified by a deep, dense light; in the presence of this dark blue light, our brain secretes calming chemicals. Light is ordinarily used to light up objects and places, but in this installation it is used to create a disturbance in our consciousness.
